This loaf is everything I want in something sweet. It has chocolate. It has dried cherries. It’s a sourdough with rye flour. If you’re looking for a sugar bomb, this is not it. But if you’re looking for something to satisfy your sweet tooth without the crash, this is your bread! I use dark chocolate chunks and plump, dried cherries to sweeten this bread – no additional sugar beyond what is in those two ingredients. Half of the flour is rye, which packs an extra nutritional punch. Served warm with a slather of good butter, I’ll take this for dessert – or any time of day!
